Rick Owens on Kakobuy Spreadsheet
Rick Owens on the Kakobuy spreadsheet splits evenly between footwear and knitwear: fur Geobaskets, leather highs, jumbo-lace lows and the Vans collaborations on one side, Mountain and full-zip hoodies, cargos and tees on the other.
Boots and hoodies together are the whole look — see shoes and hoodies on the Kakobuy Spreadsheet.
Leather, silhouette and the long body
Rick Owens footwear is all silhouette. The Geobasket and Ramones are high-tops built on an exaggerated, slightly drooping shape with a large panelled toe and a bulky sole, and the entire appeal collapses if the last is built too upright or too narrow. Look at a straight side profile: the shoe should slouch, the ankle should be tall, and the sole should have real thickness. On the jumbo-lace lows, the lace is the design — it should be a genuinely oversized flat cord, not a normal lace in a wide colour.
Leather quality is the second thing, and it is unusually visible here because these shoes use large unbroken panels with no branding to distract you. Look for consistent grain across a panel, a matte rather than plasticky sheen, and clean edge finishing where the upper meets the sole. The fur Geobasket adds a third check: the pile should lie in a consistent direction and be evenly dense rather than patchy.
On the apparel side, DRKSHDW cuts are long, draped and asymmetric — the hoodies run well past the hip and the cargos are cut wide with a dropped crotch. That is intentional, so do not size up chasing more length. Sizing otherwise runs small and is Italian-numbered on some listings. There are Vans and Stussy crossovers in this grid. USD prices.
