Gallery Dept on Kakobuy Spreadsheet

Gallery Dept on the Kakobuy spreadsheet is tees and denim: the flare jeans and flared sweatpants are the signature cuts, with painted tees, shirts, shorts, hoodies and a tracksuit filling out the grid.

Hand-finished means variable by design

Gallery Dept builds its whole identity on things that are supposed to look handmade: paint splatter, hand-lettered logos, bleach marks, raw hems. That has a practical consequence when you order — no two pieces are meant to be identical, so a warehouse photo that does not match the listing shot pixel for pixel is not automatically a problem. What you are actually checking is whether the treatment is in the same register: the same density of splatter, the same palette, the same placement zones.

The flare is the cut worth understanding before you buy. Gallery Dept flares open sharply below the knee and are cut long on purpose — they are supposed to stack over the shoe. If you measure a straight-leg pair you already own and match the inseam, you will end up with something that reads as too short for the style. The flared sweatpant does the same thing in fleece and is the easier first buy of the two.

The tees carry hand-drawn lettering, which is the one place to be strict: the letterforms should be irregular in the same way the reference is, not in a new way, and the ink should sit into the fabric rather than on top of it as a plastic film. Fit runs boxy and true. Prices are USD with a direct Kakobuy link on every card. The rest of the categories are on the Kakobuy Spreadsheet.
