Burberry on Kakobuy Spreadsheet
Burberry on the Kakobuy spreadsheet runs across hoodies, tees, jackets, shorts and caps, plus the scarf and a run of belts. Nearly everything in the grid is decided by one thing: whether the house check lines up.
The check reads best against plain pieces — see pants, t-shirts and shoes on the Kakobuy Spreadsheet.
Reading the Burberry check
The Vintage Check is a plaid, and plaids are unforgiving. On a well-made piece the pattern matches across every seam — the vertical lines continue uninterrupted from the body into the sleeve, the pockets are cut so their check aligns with the panel underneath, and the two front halves mirror each other at the zip. Matching a plaid across a seam wastes fabric, so it is the first corner a weak run cuts, and it is fully visible in a warehouse photo before you approve anything.
The detachable check puffer and the vintage puffer are the pieces where this matters most, since the check is the whole design. On the hoodies, tees and shorts the check is usually a panel or a trim rather than the entire garment, so the check there is smaller: does the printed or woven section keep its proportions, and is the red line the right weight against the camel ground? The Decoded jacket, the Curry hoodie and the Brit tee are the logo-led pieces and are judged on print instead.
The scarf is the item most people underestimate. It is a large flat piece of cashmere-weight fabric with fringing, and both the hand of the fabric and the evenness of the fringe are the hardest parts to get right — ask for a close photo of the fringe ends. Sizing on the clothing is classic rather than oversized. There is also a Supreme x Burberry crossover in this grid. USD prices throughout. The rest is on the Kakobuy Spreadsheet.
