Maison Margiela on Kakobuy Spreadsheet
Maison Margiela on the Kakobuy spreadsheet is led by hoodies and small leather goods rather than the shoes people expect. The footwear that is here is the GAT-style sneaker and the Future high-top, alongside belts, wallets, bracelets and a phone case.
The leather goods sit in accessories, the knitwear in hoodies — both on the Kakobuy Spreadsheet.
Four stitches, and the shoes people actually buy
Margiela's branding is a blank white label held on by four exposed white stitches at the corners, and that is genuinely the entire mark on most pieces. It is deceptively hard to get right: the stitches should be loose, visible and evenly spaced, sitting proud of the fabric rather than pulled tight into it, and the label itself should be plain with the numbers unbleached rather than printed sharply. A weak run tacks the label down flat, which kills the look completely.
On footwear, note what this grid actually holds. The GAT — the German Army Trainer, listed here as "Gats" in black and white — is the flat leather court shoe with the gum sole, and the Future is the taller, more sculpted one. The Tabi is not part of this catalog, so if that is what brought you here, this page will not have it. On the GAT, the check is the leather grain and the way the toe cap is stitched; the shape is simple enough that any distortion in the last is obvious.
The small leather goods — belts, the wallet, the Supreme x Margiela receipt wallet — are the cheapest entry and are judged on edge painting and the neatness of that same four-stitch tag. There are also carpets and mats filed under other stuff, plus a Supreme MM6 zip hoodie. Prices are USD. Back to the Kakobuy Spreadsheet for everything else.
